❝    perfect.   then we get some time to catch up.    ❞     there’s a wide smile on her face as she heads into the kitchen, where she’d already begin prepping for dinner.       ❝     yeah, archie’s been busy lately.   it’s a shame, too, because i know how much he loves hanging out with you.    ❞    if she were being honest, betty was the ideal girl for her son.   she was kind, good with cars,   &    beautiful.    she wasn’t sure why he spent so much time on other girls.    or rather, WASTING his time.

betty follows mrs. andrews into the kitchen before taking a seat out of her way. while she does appreciate the invitation to dinner, she doesn’t want to get under the others feet. at the mention of archie    ( and really, what else does she expect from her BEST FRIENDS MOTHER  ), her face falls just the slightest bit. she does miss her best friend, it’s true.       i’m sure he’s not avoiding me on purpose, but it does stink that he’s so busy all the time.       she says, though there’s doubt to her voice. if she’s honest, she doesn’t really know what’s been going on with him lately. the sounds of mrs. andrews moving about the kitchen bring her out of her thoughts and she smiles politely,       is there anything i can help with? i could set the table?       honestly, please give betty the job that requires the least cooking. baking is her forte, cooking will get you a burned meal.
